Karrisan Chua (b. 2002, Singapore) is a ceramic maker graduated from Central Saint Martins, Bachelor of Arts: Ceramic Design (class of 2025). Graduating from School of the Arts Singapore where she was exposed to various mediums of making, she chose clay due to its versatility. Karrisan is intrigued by the material’s plastic and malleable quality which fires to strength, irreversibly freezing the maker’s mark.

Her current practice attempts to make solid ceramic appear fluid and dynamic. By distorting thrown forms and further altering its shape through carving and attaching of clay coils, she is able to ‘sketch’ out lines and rhythms. As such, Karrisan strives to capture the intangible vitality that permeates our surroundings.
